Who remembers these?
Yep, those are vintage Tupperware popsicle molds, circa 1979. I remember filling them up with Kool-Aid, waiting anxiously for them to freeze, and eating them under the tree in the backyard.
They’re probably the main reason why we didn’t get anything from the ice cream man. Why on earth would you spend all that money when we have perfectly good popsicles right here?!?
Hmmm…I may have said that myself a time or two.
It’s fun to take a break on a busy day and have a cold treat though, so the kids and I were excited when Jamba Juice asked us to try their new fruit and veggie smoothies.
The AC in my car is broken, we had been running errands, and we were plenty hot–so we decided we deserved a smoothie. I tried a Tropical Harvest smoothie and the kids split a Berry Beet It smoothie.
They were a little nervous at first…
but they soon gave a big “thumbs up.” They didn’t even notice that their smoothie included carrots, beets, broccoli, spinach, and kale along with the strawberries, bananas, and mangos. Don’t tell them!
We had our smoothies, cooled off, and got two fruit servings and one veggie serving all at the same time. How’s that for multi-tasking?
