Wouldn’t these look great surrounded by poppies and chives? Garden fashionistas say that’s “The Look” for Spring 2012. ;o) I’ll order my poppy and chive seeds from Renee’s Garden later this month.
Up closer to the house, the snapdragons and calendula were unfazed by the cold. Maybe the red hot poker is keeping everybody warm.
Jackjack’s strawberries are also mulched, and apart from the red leaves they are doing well. The parsley is going crazy, and I cut and dried a big bunch for use later this winter.
All this talk about the front yard and I haven’t talked about the backyard at all. BrownThumbPapa built me a couple of new raised beds, and I’m growing garlic, onions, snow peas, cilantro, and spinach in those. I might even get brave and try potatoes again!
