Quick Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

  • 14 oz can of chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 yellow onion, chopped fine
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 15 oz can of tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp pesto
  1. In a large saucepan, saute the onion and olive oil over medium heat until the onions have softened. Add the tomatoes, juice and all. Stir and simmer for 4-5 minutes until the tomatoes have started to break down.

  2. Add the tomato sauce, brown sugar, and pesto, and turn heat to low. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 3-4 minutes until heated through.
